I recently had the opportunity to repair a 1958 Philco "Predicta" television set.

Probably most people would have found it easier just to Photoshop their picture
onto a clipart image of a Predicta.

However, it seemed like an interesting challenge, especially since nobody
else (even regular TV repair shops) had wanted to deal with it. Eventually
it took replacement of one tube, all of the eletrolytic and paper capacitors,
and the flyback and picture tube from the "parts" TV. I may not work on TVs
very often, but even I know that light shouldn't be coming out of a transformer.

Special thanks to Eric Stollsteimer at Boss Guitars (owner of TV) and especially to Nap Pepin
for his wonderful Predicta restoration page.
